My ole lady got tired of sitting on back.

My ole lady has been riding with me for nearly 14 years. She said the other day she wanted to learn to ride. Sorry, but she's not gonna learn on my bikes. So, I found this cool little bike that needs alot of love. We picked it up cheap as dirt and will have to replace everything, but hey thats half the fun.

Welcome to the group. You are correct - fixing it up is half the fun. GZ is a great bike for her.

The GZ will be the ideal 1st bike to build skill and confidence. Professional rider training is also a great help. And yes we know you could/can/and will teach your wife. Your new rider needs a trained observer who is not personally attached. You also have the ability to teach your wife any bad habits you have......................been there done that.

As a Lady Rider who's only been riding for a year, I can vouch that the GZ is a great bike to learn on. Like WW says, it definitely builds skills and confidence. Welcome to the forum. Post pics when the bike is fixed up.

Yeah, knowing my wife she will be getting something that can handle more than 60 MPH before too long. Honestly, I would have got her something a little bigger, but I got this bike really, really cheap. Like $150 cheap. So far I've got another 150 getting it going. When she's ready she can pick out what she wants. It'll be a long, long time before she gets on the Sportster, and she can't reach the ground on my Electra Glide.

And no way I'm teaching her how to ride. We've been married 14 years and I know better, lol. Since we live in Texas she has to take the course to get her license, so they can teach her.

So far this site has been pretty helpful in getting it going again. I started it for the first time tonight. Did a few adjustments to the carb and rode around the neighbor hood. That little bike is comfy. I still got a long way to go to have it legal and running right, but then again she hasn't taken the class yet so no hurries.

You are a wise man Ducky. Sounds like you found a keeper and want to stay married to her. Good to know Texas has mandatory training and such.
