First Bike

I've wanted a bike for a long time and finally got one! Here's my 2001 GZ250.

Re: First Bike

Oh my it does look good for it's age. Always have admired the 2 tone paint on the older models. In reference to your other thread. Now is the time for new tires, tubes, oil, oil filter and check the air filter. Also an inline fuel filter is a sure bet to avoid carb problems.

Re: First Bike

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely get that done asap. I was planning on riding it around all weekend but I guess making sure it's safe to ride is a better idea. Plus I really like to tinker with things. It was owned by an elderly man who developed heart problems and had to stop riding. It's been stored in his garage for a while. That's why it only has 1600 miles on it, well 1700 now. He said he changed out the gas and put in a new battery but didn't mention anything else.

Re: First Bike

If we can start you out on the right foot you may never trip up. Have fun tinkering.
