300 miles since leaving the living room!

Here it is. Got the battery cover on, tool bag mounted and tire wear tabs burned off! It steps on me on hard corners a little. Not bad once you get used to it....kinda like sliding a dirt bike! All in all, it runs like a scalded ape, looks good, and even with the carb mods gets around 50-60 MPG. And as far as the top speed with a 16T front sprocket, I still had throttle at 80 MPH....I just ran out of straight road. I'll get yall a top speed when I can do it without killing myself or anyone else!!!

Did you expect anything less? Like what you did to the bike. I am not an advocate of mods but you stripped the bike down to essentials and it is still looking good to me.

Paint and bodywork when it gets cold. Till then, I'm riding the hell out of it!

Re: 300 miles since leaving the living room!

One thought about your increased speed. It will be partially caused by cuting down the front fender. The original fender is a giant air scoop and creates a lot of drag. When I was a kid I would notice a great difference on a bicycle just by removing the front fender. Another case of less is more.

That thing is so ragged-awesome.
Just make sure you don't wear shoes with really long laces...
