In the basic rider course they teach you to use both brakes at every stop. That way you get into the routine of using both, and if you need to stop in an emergency you will have maximum braking...

Thanks for the review! I'm looking to replace my workboots with something that works a bit better. (The toe of the boot is too big to easily get under the shifter). I'll check these out.
